My destination was Mahebourg, the town near the airport. I exchanged some cash for Mauritian rupees and set off. The taxi was inexpensive, and dropped me off by the harbor. I got to watch the Indian Ocean lap against the harbor for a while. It beats working.
I found a little restaurant, the Monte Carlo. It had high recommendations from Lonely Planet. The recommendations were accurate. I had a chicken and shrimp curry for lunch. Also, for the first timer in a long time, I had a diet coke. It was bliss.
After lunch, it was back to the airport, where I checked in for my flight. I was flying first class from Mauritius to Seychelles, so I was assigned seat 1-A. At the airport I bought some silk for my family.
Pearl Class is quite comfortable. I was given a bunch of goodies, and the food was excellent. Veal terrine, fish and prawn brochette, and lamb curry. The flight landed on time, and I was in Seychelles.
