The Royal Palace is in the Buda Hills, and our hotel was in Pest, so this was the view across the river.

The Victory monument was originally a tribute to the Soviet liberation of Budapest from the Nazis, when Hungary was liberated from the Soviets, they renamed it the Statue of Liberty.
