2001 in Great Britain
Part 7: Ireland
We crossed the border near Derry into Ireland and bought some petrol.
The prices here are about 30% lower than in Northern Ireland,
probably due to a lower petrol tax. We then drove to Letterkenny for
lunch. Fish and chips for me, a chicken sandwich and chips for Ian.
The portion of chips, for one Irish punt (about 80p) were huge.
We'd have had to pay 80p back in 1984 for that many chips from Joe's.

We then headed up Lougheach Skelly to see some Irish scenery.
Near the top of the drive, I took a few pictures, but with the
weather closing in, my first Irish adventure was to rate a small
stop. By the time we crossed back into Northern Ireland on the
way to Omagh, the rain had begun.
