Marin County, just north of San Francisco, includes many areas for photography, like Hawk Hill, Muir Woods, and Point Reyes.

Muir Woods

Muir Woods is a short drive north of San Francisco, and has many coastal redwoods.
Mist in the Trees

The morning fog adds a mist to Muir Woods that makes the scenery smashing.

Different evergreens show different shades of green.

Red-shouldered Hawk in Flight

Note the obvious crescents on the wings of this Red-shouldered Hawk.

Harbor Seals

It was low tide at Bolinas Lagoon, so there weren't many birds. The seals were hanging out, though.

A solitary Western Grebe came into view.

Fog from Hawk Hill

It was a foggy day on hawk hill, the top of the fog was almost at the top of the hill, which created some spectacular views.

A sharp-shinned hawk gave us a decent look.
Golden Gate Bridge in Fog

At one point, only the very tops of the towers on the Golden Gate Bridge poked out over the fog.
