Images of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks



Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are about an hour's drive east of Fresno. Sequoia has many of the last groves of giant redwoods, as well as Mount Whitney. Kings Canyon has the Grant Grove, as well as the deep canyon carved by the Kings River.

General Sherman Tree

The General Sherman Tree is the largest living tree on the planet. It has a circumference of 103 feet, a height of over 300 feet, and a weight of over 1000 tons.

Roaring River Falls

Roaring River Falls is really many cascades, but only this one is visible easily.
Grizzly Falls

Grizzly Falls is actually in the Sequoia National Forest, by the road. It's about 100 feet tall.
Rocks at Grizzly Falls

The rocks and the water at the bottom of the falls make a pretty picture.
Kings Canyon

Here is Kings Canyon, from the top.
North Canyon

This Canyon is north of Kings Canyon and there is a confluence about 4000 feet below this point.
Fresh Snow

Fresh snowfall on the evergreens approaching the entrance station.
