Monitor Pass

Monitor Pass is one of the more scenic Sierra passes, looking into this glacier carved valley.
Devil's Postpile

Devil's Postpile is 100,000 lava, southeast of Yosemite.
Tioga Lake

Tioga Lake is east of the Sierra crest, just outside Yosemite.
Mono Lake

Mono Lake is an extremely important lake for migrating birds and breeding gulls.
Tufa at Mono Lake

The tufa are formed from limestone bubbling up from fumaroles at the bottom of Mono Lake.

These tufa form exotic statues.
Brine Flies

Mono Lake is surrounded by Brine Flies. These flies leave humans alone.
Carson Lake

Carson Lake is viewable from the summit of Carson Pass.
The Sierra Nevada

From the White Mountains, one can look over to the crest of the Sierra Nevada west of Bishop.
Bristlecone Pine

The White Mountains are home to the Bristlecone Pine, some of the oldest trees around.
Bodie

Bodie is a ghost town northeast of Mono Lake.
