Images of Montana

I've visited Montana twice, once in September, 1991, and again in August, 1993. The 1993 trip was more productive, photography-wise.

Custer's Last Stand

In 1991, I visited the location of Custer's Last Stand. The battlefield is not much different than the surrounding hills, except for the remains of a few trenches and the gravestones marking the locations where the soldiers died. The stone with the black shield in the middle of the picture is where General Custer's body was located.
Mount Custer

Mount Custer is at the north end of Glacier National Park, and is visible from across the border in Canada.
Grinnel Lake

This is my favorite picture from 1993. Grinnel Lake is accessible only by a 4-5 mile walk from Many Glacier Lodge, and at the time I arrived I was the only person present. The lake is in a circe and the walls of the circe are an explosion of color. The water is one of the bluest waters I've ever seen.
Grinnel Falls

High on the walls of the circe were three small waterfalls.
An eagle

This was my first effort at photographing a bald eagle. It's not great, as I've taken much better pictures. I keep this for the personal/historical significance.
