Images of Zion National Park

I finished my visit to Utah in 1992 by visiting Zion National Park. I came back in the winter of 1997 and June 2000.

The White Throne

After Bryce came Zion, and the White Throne is the symbol of the park.
Zion Canyon

The walls of Zion make up a different type of view than Yosemite.
Canyon Overlook

At sunrise, the canyon has an alien glow.
Zion High Country

The high country at Zion is sparsely visited, but scenic.

Zion in the morning

At sunrise, the walls of the Zion Canyon are dark red.
The Three Patriarchs

These three rocks are the guardians of the canyon.
Looking down the canyon

Down the canyon is the Virgin River. This provides the moisture for trees.
More Zion

Another view of the walls of Zion.
Stars at night in Zion

At night, I took a picture of the night sky. It was a 15 minute exposure (or thereabouts) and I managed to get star trails.

Black-headed Grosbeak

This Black-headed Grosbeak was near the Narrows.
Dippers

If you look closely, you will see a dipper playing in the water of the Virgin River.
Yellow Warbler

This Yellow Warbler was outside the lodge.
