Owls are notoriously difficult to see, and to photograph. They like to stay in dark places by day, and are nocturnal hunters. It is rare to get a good photograph.

This owl was just sitting there in a refuge in the Central Valley.
A Pair at Klamath

This pair of owls was asleep in a tree in the Lower Klamath Wildlife Refuge.
In a Nest in Arizona

Near Patagonia, this owl was sleeping in this hollowed out part of a tree.

There is a Great Horned Owl in this picture. This is how they look in camouflage.

This owl was sitting on a wire in Washington.

It is rare to see an owl soar overhead.
